The Cariboo Agility Team's annual Dog Agility Trial will be taking over Lumberman's Park next to the arena in 100 Mile House on Aug. 26-28.

This event is an Agility Association of Canada (AAC) sanctioned trial and spectators can expect to see around 200 runs on both Saturday and Sunday.

Local group treasurer Roxanne Ziefflie says the numbers are well up over last year's event that had about 150 runs each day.

On Friday, the dogs and their handlers will warm up their dogs and get them used to their surroundings at 5 p.m.

"We run them through the tunnels to warm them up."

The real action gets going at 8 a.m. on Saturday and will go until 5 p.m., she adds.

On Sunday, they start as 7:30 a.m. and run until 4:30 p.m.

It is free to come a watch the event, but Ziefflie asks folks with aggressive dogs to leave them at home.

"Otherwise people can bring their dogs as long as they're on leashes at all times."

Folks should take advantage of seeing these dogs and their handlers and their teamwork during their runs.
