A second-place finish at a recent provincial tournament in North Surrey by the local U14 rep fastball squad qualified them for the upcoming Western Canadian Championships in Lloydminster, Alta. on Aug. 1-4.

The tournament features some of the country's top teams and 100 Mile N' Hour is looking for local sponsors.

“Our club was formed only five years ago, and in this time, we have established ourselves as a force to reckon with after having competed in several ball tournaments in and around the province,” team manager Audrey Johnson says, adding the team has been fundraising on its own in order to train, travel and buy equipment.

“Since the club is a small one, our funds are not very big and we function on a tiny budget.”

For more on sponsorship opportunities, call Johnson at 250-706-3215 or Kari Edle at 250-706-8303.
