Night attracted 64 golfer despite rainy conditions

Despite the rainy conditions, the 108 Golf Resort Men's Club saw 64 golfers out Aug. 28 for a nine-hole round ahead of the Club Championships, which take place on Sept. 4 and 8.

Golfers were split into three flights for last Wednesday's round.

Chris Seeley fired a 35 for low-gross score in the first flight, just beating out Bill Harris, who shot a 36 and Richard Smith with a 37. Low-net score in the first flight went to John Kuharski (34) and Eric Friesen (34), followed by Tony Morete (35). The deuce pot was split by Brian Coldwell, Kuharski, Jamie Crellin and Jim Laird.

Second flight low gross was carded by Len Van Drimmelen (38), followed by Lee Hansen (39) and Jack Rausch (41). Low-net winner was Shawn Reid (31), followed by Merle Ross (33) and Ron Vandermay (34). The deuce pot went to Miles Bucknell.

Ed Cassie shot the low-gross score in the third flight with 43, with Brent Chysyk and Ron Tonts each shooting 47. Top low-net scores belonged to Carson Walker (35), Ken Waite (36) and Doug Johnston (37).

Longest drives went to Seeley (first flight), Marvin Declare (second flight) and Chysyk (third flight). Closes-to-the-pin honours went to Richard Smith (first flight), Rick Lundsted (second flight) and Gord Spare (third flight).

The long-putt winner was Jay Scott.
