Weather conditions were right as 55 golfers teed off for the 108 Golf Resort Men’s Club round on Aug. 14, ahead of the 108 Men’s Club Championships, which have been rescheduled to Sept. 4 and 8.

The Aug. 17-18 dates were cancelled due to an intense rain.

Three flights took off for the Wednesday round.

In the first flight, Bill Harris won low-gross honours (33). Matt McNeil was second (38); and John McNeil was third (39). First low net was Jim Laird (33); second was James Seeley (33); third was Dave Robertson (36).

The second flight saw Rick Lunsted with lowest score (40); second lowest was Bob Wieduwilt (41) and third lowest was Spence Henderson (42). Low-net scores were carded by Steve Randell (34), Marvin Declare (34) and Miles Bucknell (35).

Gord Spare fired the best low-gross score (43) in the third flight, while Tony Lidstone and Herm Dutchak tied for the second lowest (44). Top low net in the third flight was Bryant Hollins (32). Second and third lowest were Dave Jollymour and Carson Walker both with 34s.

The long drive in the first flight went to Bill Baerg on No. 14, Declare in the second flight on No. 17. Carson Walker hammered his drive in the third flight on No. 16.

John Tomlinson hit the longest put on No. 13.

Closest to the pin honours went to Andy Fletcher (first flight), Lunsted (second flight) and Ron Thurston (third flight).
