The 100 Mile N Hour U16 fastball team won bronze in May Mayhem Tournament in Richmond on May 14-15. The team had a combined 15 home runs during the tourney.

The 100 Mile N Hour U16 fastball team travelled to Richmond to compete in the May Mayhem Tournament on May 14-15.

This was the team's first tournament of the season.

The team got off to a strong start on Saturday as all three games were won by mercy rule against Sooke, Fleetwood and Cloverdale. The 100 Mile MVP winners were Trevor McMahon, first game; Warren McNabb, second game; and Spencer Edle, third game.

The first game on Sunday resulted in a 7-4 loss against North Surrey, with the 100 Mile MVP honours going to Hayden Prodnuk. This was the end of the round-robin play and placed the U16 team second in the playoff brackets.

They then faced against Richmond in the semifinals and lost a hard-fought game against Richmond with a final score of 14-10.

This sent the team to the bronze-medal game against Fleetwood. The U16 players played a fantastic game and hit six home runs. The final score was an 18-8 victory, with Ryan Allen taking MVP nod.

The team scored a combined 15 home runs, seven of which belonged to Warren McNabb.

The 100 Mile N Hour U16 team's next official tournament will be the provincials in North Surrey on June 30-July 3.

Some of the U16 players, along with others from Williams Lake and Prince George will be attending the B.C. Summer Games in Abbotsford in July.

Meanwhile, the team will be playing in the 100 Mile Men's Fastball League. Next week's games will be on May 24 and 26, with both games starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Lumberman's Park.
