Unique Craft Market this weekend

Folks can shop and chat while their children are entertained

The 70 Mile Community Hall Club is hosting a free child-friendly craft and bake sale at the community hall, so parents can shop while their children are being entertained on Oct. 7-8.

Event co-organizer Rita Dixon says it's been a while since the Crafters Store has been open in 70 Mile House, so they decided it would be a good idea to put a sale together so people can do some Christmas shopping.

There will be 16 tables of crafts and baked goods, and there will be activity tables to keep the children busy. There will also be a raffle draw and concession.

They will be serving hot chili, a bun and a refreshment on Friday, and hotdogs, hamburgers and a refreshment on Saturday.

The hall is open from 3 to 8 p.m. on Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Saturday is the big day for the children with a cupcake walk at 11 a.m., and family entertainer Mat Duffus will perform at 1 or 1:30 p.m.

"This guy is phenomenal," Dixon says, adding he will entertain every member of the family.
