School District 27 (SD 27) school trustees received schools superintendent Mark Thiessen's official resignation at a special board meeting on Aug. 16.
Thiessen will be leaving the SD27 on Aug. 31.
Meanwhile assistant superintendent Harj Manhas has been appointed as acting superintendent and will start that position on Sept. 1.
School board chair Tanya Guenther, says the board is very appreciative of all the work Thiessen done on behalf of the board during his years as superintendent and his many years with the school district.”
