Smirnoff Ice products recalled

Possibility of small pieces of glass in bottle sparked voluntary recall

Following a countrywide warning about possible glass contamination, three types of Smirnoff Ice coolers have been recalled in British Columbia.

The company's supplier, Diageo Canada, voluntarily recalled the alcoholic drinks last week because they may contain small pieces of glass.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency also issued a recall warning, advising people to avoid drinking the beverages.

On Sept. 9, B.C.'s liquor distribution branch issued recall for 12-packs of Smirnoff Ice, four-packs of Smirnoff Ice cranberry lime and four-packs of Smirnoff Ice peach bellinis.

Customers can return recalled products to the store where they were bought for a full refund.
