On March 15

Starting at 8:30 a.m. on March 17, BC Hydro is switching the power off in parts of 100 Mile House.

The scheduled outage is expected to end at 6 p.m. as long as there are no issues.

Contractors will be replacing the 40-year-old underground conduit with a larger conduit, as well as replacing the cables.

The outage will affect: 215 Evergreen Cres. to North Birch Avenue; Birch Place; Balsam Street; Fir Street; and from 267 and 262 Dogwood Cres. up to Balsam Street.

The contractor did some work last fall and start prep work on March 15 in an effort make the job go faster.

The outage is necessary so workers can access and replace the lines safely.

Several shorter outages are expected throughout the summer.
