Missing Mica Mountain snowmobilers found

On Saturday, March 11, at 9 p.m. two Snowmobilers were reported missing to the 100 Mile House RCMP.

RCMP UPDATE: The search was continued at first light with Search and Rescue members and an RCMP member on snowmobiles. A local helicopter service was also called to assist. At 10:43 a.m. the two males were located by the helicopter. Search and Rescue members on the ground attended to their location and found that both males were in good condition and not injured. It was determined that one of snowmobiles had got stuck badly late in the afternoon. The males decided to stay at the location overnight instead of risking trying to navigate their way out in the dark. Both men are experienced riders and were well prepared with survival gear. Neither male required medical treatment.

On Saturday, March 11, at 9 p.m. two Snowmobilers were reported missing to the 100 Mile House RCMP. Family members of two males in their 20s reported that they failed to return home after snowmobiling in the Spanish Mica Mountain area.

Search and Rescue has been activated and are presently searching for the two Snowmobilers.

The media has reported two snowmobilers are missing in the Valemount area, however, it has been confirmed by the RCMP that there are no snowmobilers reported missing in the Valemount area at this time. The reported on snowmobilers are missing in the 100 Mile House area.
