The Mini Wranglers wrapped up their season on Feb. 28.

The program teaches young children the basics of hockey, taking them through different drills designed to teach them thebasics of the game.

Based on their achievements, they can move into different levels each year before joining the minor hockey leagues.

Members of the 100 Mile Wranglers hockey team also join the practices, coaching the kids on hockey basics.

Triton Fowler, 7, was hesitant to step onto the ice until his fifth or sixth lesson, according to his mom. Thanks to Wranglersplayer Brevin Gervais, who encouraged and mentored Fowler, Fowler lost his shyness and worked hard on the ice.

“He made a good effort and is very proud of himself,” says Fowler’s mom.

Because of the help the coaches and Wranglers gave the kids, at a wrap up party after their last practice Fowler made a cardfor the coaches that everyone signed.

Kids at the event were all proud of themselves, showing off their medals and certificates and looking forward to next yearwhen they can get back on the ice.
