Firefighters pay tribute to fallen friend

Several fire departments and EMS members joined the escort to Williams Lake

Fire departments from around the 100 Mile House area joined the escort of fallen Lone Butte Fire Department fire captain and first responder

Members of the Lone Butte, 100 Mile, 108 Mile and Lac la Hache and other area fire departments escorted a fallen firefighter John Ansel Warman in a procession from 100 Mile House to Williams Lake on Jan. 6.

Williams Lake Fire Department members greeted the remaining two trucks from the procession – others had dropped off on their way up the highway – at the outskirts of Williams Lake pullout before proceeding to the Five Rivers Crematorium for a ceremony.

Warman was a fire captain and first responder with the Lone Butte Fire Department and recently received his five-year service pin.

He passed away on Jan. 1, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.
