Watch for students

back to school

It's the end of summer, not that we had much of one to begin with, but with that comes getting back to routines.

It just seems like yesterday when I wrote this article to warn drivers about the children getting out of school. Now, they are heading back, and drivers should be careful to respect the school zone speed.

For most children, whether they admit it or not, the prospect of heading back to school can be exciting and terrifying at the same time.

Again, I doubt they will be paying attention to traffic and it is up to us who drive to watch out for them.

School zone driving speeds are 30 kilometres an hour, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during school hours.

Furthermore, there are some highways in this area that have signs posted warning drivers to reduce their speed when children on highway.

So, remember the little ones are back on the highways and byways, so take care out there.
