To the editor:
I am trying to think of the right words, but all I come up with is stupidity.
What is wrong with our society.
I find it sad that our news outlets will go on for days about a dog attack and report over and over the dog has been destroyed.
First of all, the only one who is at blame is the owner.
But they never are, so the dog pays with his life. It's just more animal abuse.
You can be a murderer, molester, sexual predator and get a slap on the wrist, but if you are a dog, namely a pitbull, you get death.
You can drown your baby because you have an exam and get two months of probation because now you feel bad.
This is totally insane. People are never held accountable for anything.
There was a time when there were consequences.
We have laws that are not worth the paper they are printed on.
The SPCA has the toughest fines and jail time in Canada.
This is a joke nobody gets anything.
Maybe our rules should change bad people and they would get the same outcome as bad dogs.
What is the saying? There is good in everyone – not even close.
