To the editor:
Pat and I have been as active as possible from the distance in White Rock, in the development issues in and around our beautiful Bridge Lake in the Cariboo.
Most recently, we carefully looked at the details of the proposed swap of "the island" for the 85 acres of land along the southwest shore of the lake, extending southwest from Greenall Road.
There are a number of convincing arguments that make the "deal" a one-sided, enormously financially attractive opportunity for the developer.
The other concern we will raise is based on our experience of hiking through that area.
This shoreline and its forest and towering cliffs are the last natural wild area on the lake. It is the last "safe area" for all the different wildlife and birds along the southwest shore of Bridge Lake.
We respectfully request your readers’ support in bringing about the best resolution to this issue.
