All Bridge Lake Fair competition entries will be accepted at Interlakes Community Centre (ICC) on either August 16 or 17 depending on the class, and judged on the 17th.
The fair will be open to the public on August 18. It will include the Interlakes Show ’n Shine, but there will be no Horse Show this year.
Instead, organizers will hold Zucchini Races! Age categories are: eight and under; 9-12; 13-17; and 18+; with varying zucchini weight classes within the age groups. Entrants should acquire a green or yellow zucchini, maximum width 10”, maximum length 15”, bought or grown; fix vegetable wheels to it; decorate it with creative ideas; give it a (family-friendly) name; refrigerate it; then come to the fair and register it by 1 p.m.
You can also come to the Fair’s zucchini-building tent between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and create it right there with (required) parental supervision. At 1:30 p.m., when races begin, send your masterpiece down the race ramp and cheer really loudly! Be sure to read the full rules in the entry booklet which will be available in early June.
The Container Contest requires plants to be grown in any woven basket, e.g., raffia, wicker. No points are awarded, but special prizes comprise Horse Lake Garden Centre’s first prize donation of a $50 gift certificate; $25 cash second prize donated by Dan & Sharon; and $10 for third.
This year’s Log Cabin Quilters’ Challenge theme is “Nature.”

Interlakes Community Centre (ICC)
Residents are so appreciative of 100 Mile Repair Cafe’s visits to Interlakes Community Centre that ICC has arranged for them to come monthly on a trial basis, so the worthy gentlemen will be here 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Mondays, June 24 and July 22. They do not work on computers or cell phones.
With sincere appreciation to leader Lynn Gerwing who does not charge for her expertise, line-dancing will continue Tuesdays, 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., until the end of June.
Poker is grateful to its many volunteers, and advises that it has now stopped until the Fall, when they look forward to seeing everyone again!

Interlakes Volunteer Fire Department Society (IVFD)
IVFD Society’s annual Garage Sale is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, June 29 at Interlakes Rodeo Grounds, East Sheridan Lake Road, off Highway 24. Cash only, and bring your own bags. Also buy a raffle ticket, and enjoy the bake sale and concession.
