To the editor:
The B.C. housing market has been a casino for over thirty years now.
Anybody who enters a casino and expects to win at every game, all of the time, suffers from some kind of delusion.
The B.C. housing casino has been just that, however. Perpetual winners!
I love the story of the guy in Point Grey who bought a house for slightly under four hundred thousand thirty years ago and who now sits on a property worth six and a half million and who is upset with the speculation tax.
Gee whiz, he might have to sell and take a 1,658-per cent profit.
Terrible, too, for the Albertans who have kept vacation properties for decades and watched them quadruple in value.
What are they to do? These people are really suffering!
We all need to convince Andrew Weaver to bring down the government so that we can relieve these people of their terrible burden.
Then we can all get back to betting once again on that great Canadian game, the B.C. Housing Market. Ya never lose, ya know!
