Yvonne McNeil

April 21, 1950 - December 30, 2021
On December 30 2021, after a brief illness and surrounded by the love of family, our wonderful mother, Yvonne McNeil (nee Blomfeldt), passed away in Kamloops, BC at the age of 71.
Yvonne was predeceased by her husband Neil, and her parents Eivor and Leonard. She is survived by her three loving children, Michael (Grace), Russell (Jasmine) and Sally (Wade), her siblings, Robin and Eva, as well as 10 cherished grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren.
Born on April 21, 1950 in Karlskrona Sweden, she emigrated to Canada at age 7 and eventually made her home in 100 Mile House, BC. Yvonne met and married the love of her life, her husband Neil, at age 17 and settled into domestic life in the Cariboo as an exceptional wife and mother. She had a zest for homemaking, gardening, fishing and dancing and was always on the go - never one to sit still! Yvonne was an enthusiastic Canucks supporter and never missed a game. She cared deeply for her family, friends and neighbors and was always the first to offer her help and love. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. What made Yvonne happiest was to be a central figure in her children's lives. Anyone who knew her knew that they were the most important parts of her life (followed closely by her cat, Jasper!)
We ask you to join us in remembering our wonderful mother, who asked for so little but gave so much. Our lives are richer for having had her in them and she will be so dearly missed every day.
Thanks to the many wonderful nurses and doctors at Royal Inland Hospital who worked so tirelessly to make her last days comfortable. We can never thank you enough.
In lieu of flowers, please give your mom, dad, son, daughter, grandparent or friend a hug or go for a walk with them, sit around a campfire and share stories, and most importantly, tell them you love them. Time waits for no one.
Celebration of Life on Friday July 29th - 10:00 am - 3:00 pm at 926 Cariboo Trail.
