William Michael

1973-2010

William (Bill) Michael Crane, known fondly by many as “ChillBilly”, passed away suddenly at the young age of 37, on Saturday July 10, 2010 at 100 Mile House District Hospital, 100 Mile House, BC.

Bill lived his life with no apologies and no regrets. He had the gift of telling a story and making it live in such a way that no matter how serious or sad, it always made you smile. He was rarely found without his life partner, Emmy Lou Stoeter, with whom he shared a joy of life and open spaces. His pride in life was his son Oliver, whom he thought of everyday and watched grow into a young man. Bill tried whenever he could to live his life to the fullest, whether it was through guiding white water river rafting expeditions, or giving back as a mentor to young men living in a halfway house. As the owner of Northern MedTech, he touched lives, while teaching his students to save lives, and with his partner Emmy Lou he raised and cared for over 20 horses, who like him, roamed through the rolling hills of the Cariboo.

Left to remember Bill is his life partner, Emmy Lou Stoeter of 108 Mile Ranch, son Oliver Douglas Crane of Chilliwack, parents Bob and Elsa Rose Bryant of 108 Mile Ranch, sister Erica Henderson of 108 Mile Ranch, and brother Rob Bryant of Hope, among countless others whose lives he had touched.

A celebration of his life will be held at the 100 Mile Funeral Home, 225 Cedar Avenue, on Saturday July 17 from 1pm to 3pm.

Bill once said, “Gettin’ old sucks, but it does tend to remind us all, that nothing really matters in the end... So just relax and enjoy your short time here.”
