August 13, 1934 - June 12, 2022
In loving memory ~
It is with sadness we announce the sudden passing of Wilfred Wageler on June 12, 2022.
Predeceased by his wife Joanne in 2008. Survived by son Allan and his wife Deanea, sister Alice, brothers Walter (Helen) and Arnie(Muriel), numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Born in Saskatchewan August 13, 1934, Wilf grew up on the family farm. He moved to BC as a young man to manage grocery stores. Wilf met his wife Joanne while working in Kitimat.
They owned a grocery store in the lower mainland before moving to the Cariboo in 1975. Wilf volunteered for many years on the 108 Fire Department and then on the Fire Commision. Many remember Wilf from his time working at Clancy's in Lac La Hache.
During the early part of his retirement Wilf enjoyed travelling with Joanne. The last few years he has kept busy fishing, playing pool, playing cards, going for lunch and dinner with friends, watching the local hockey team (anything and everything social).
Wilf loved to laugh and make others laugh, he would tease to get a rise out of others given any opportunity.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the heart and stroke foundation.
Forever in our Hearts.
