1949 – 2010
Wilfred Gerald Johnstone passed away Sunday, May 23, 2010 at his home at Timothy Lake Resort with his loving wife and family at his bedside. He was born in Stettler, Alberta on March 6, 1949; the oldest of eight children, and was raised in Red Deer, Alberta. He met the love of his life Patricia O’Neill. They were married May 1, 1976. In 1985 they purchased the Timothy Lake Resort and moved there with their two children. Wilfred was a strong family man, he was known as a quiet, loving, giving man with a gift for telling stories with a humorous twist.
Wilfred is survived by his loving wife Patricia, son Shane (Amber), daughter Nadine, grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Kenneth and Nicole; his mother Fay, five sisters: Sylvia (Hank), Isabel (Cheryl), Pearl (Bill), Doreen (Don), Carol (Murray); two brothers: Kenneth (Sherryl) and Bruce (Rhonda), thirteen nieces and nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his father Gerald in September 2001.
A Memorial Service was held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 28, 2010 at the Lac La Hache Community Hall. Wally Gilfoy officiated.
