1939 - 2009

Walter passed away in 100 Mile House on July 21, 2009. He was born on December 10, 1939 in Wurzen, East Germany, and he emigrated to Canada when he was 18 years old, and was very proud to say he was Canadian.

Walter was a painter and decorator by trade, and he worked for many years in that occupation. He was very good at his trade. He loved his family and worked hard to support them until illness, COPD, forced him into retirement.

He is survived by his wife Marlene Seiler, son Joe, son Russell and numerous grandchildren. He is also survived his brother-in-law Ken Pilsworth, his wife Kathy and their families.

Many thanks to all the health support workers that helped him over the years. Special thanks to Elaine Wiens, Anne Marie Brown and all the other nurses and care workers who came to our house. And last but not least, a very special thanks to Dr. Nicholson, who went way beyond the call of duty!

A Memorial Service was held on July 25, 2009 at the Evangelical Free Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Lung Association, Box 34009, Stn – D, Vancouver BC, V6J 9Z9.
