October 31, 1950 - July 30, 2019
July 30, 2020 marks the one-year anniversary of my brother, Terry Larson's passing.
Terry was raised in the Roe Lake area. He was the second oldest of five children in the K.J. Larson family. He was
predeceased by his lovely little sister Karen (1960); his parents, Karel (1973), and Hazel Larson (2017). He is survived by his wife, Thelma; stepdaughter Sherri-Lynn (David) and their family. He is also survived by his siblings, Larry (Julie) of Williams Lake, Owen; Sharon Ouellette and her family all from Edmonton area.
Terry opened his huge heart and with his wife welcomed several nieces and nephews into their home. They moved to several locations but always came back home to the beautiful/peaceful 100 Mile House. Settling in the area for good, he drove heavy equipment for the same logging company ever since.
While recovering from a broken back and looking forward to returning to work Terry learned that he had Leukemia...the battle of his life had just begun. This was shocking news as he had never been 'sick' before. After months of treatments, he received horrific news... 'It's not working', Terry faced what future he had with bravery and courage. The first thing he would say was that he didn't want to hear any doom and gloom. He preferred to talk about friends and neighbors, and his famous horse 'Tori'.
At one-point Terry became choked up, and teary eyed and said he felt so guilty that he had never donated any blood but have been on the receiving end of needing bags and bags through blood transfusions." It was at that moment I decided that I would support the Canadian Blood Services any way I could on his behalf as I urge everyone to. We never know when we or loved ones will be hit by emergencies.
The family wish to express our gratitude for the exceptional care Terry received at the St. Paul and 100 Mile House hospitals.
