Sylvia Blace, 92, passed away Thursday, September 16th, 2021 with her daughter at her side at Fischer Place in 100 Mile House, BC. The youngest of seven children to George and Mary Blace, she is predeceased by her 6 siblings Weston, Ambelina, Nelson, Dorothy, Lucy and Bernice. Loving mother of David Madden, Susan Schalles, and Steven McNulty, she is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
"Grandma Cats", as she was referred to by several of her grandchildren, loved animals! She devoted many years to rescuing stray cats, particularly in the city of Prince George, where she founded and ran the non-profit "Adopt a Cat"shelter in the 90s. Though she no longer ran a cat shelter when she moved to 100 Mile, she continued to watch out for many of the local strays, providing food and make-shift shelters to protect them from the cold. Sylvia loved to play crib, and in her later years, read voraciously and did word searches daily.
She will be sorely missed by family.
