It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Syd Miles.
Syd moved to the Cariboo in 1980 after spending his younger years in North Vancouver and Gibsons, BC.
A log scaler all of his life Syd made many friends during his 22 years of employment at Weldwood. He was an inspiration to everyone he met.
Syd retired 16 years ago and spent as much time as he could camping and fishing throughout the area, his favorite spot was Horn Lake.
He was always “joined at the hip” with his soul mate and love of his life for 48 years, Elaine. Syd will be forever missed and loved by his wife Elaine, his daughters Cathy, Norma (Doug), Debbie (Rod), Moraine (Mark), Cindy (Paul) and Laurie, he was sadly predeceased by his daughter Noni in 1986. Syd leaves his many grandchildren and great grandchildren, too many to name as well as his beloved dogs Sky and Amber.
There will be no service out of respect for his wishes.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the local SPCA.
