Shirley Wasstrom was born in New Westminster, B.C. Feb. 21, 1932 and passed away peacefully at her home in Lac La Hache, B.C. June 19, 2006.Shirley came to the Cariboo with her family in 1951. She worked at the 100 Mile House Cafe, where she met and married Ture (Terry) Wasstrom in February of 1953. Together they raised seven children. Shirley was a loving and generous grandmother of ten precious grandchildren and a great grandmother of five. She touched many hearts with her kindness and ever-present smile. She was devoted to her family and her faith. Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Ture, her children Iver, Verna (Wade) Fisher, Lana (Lorne) Foley, David, Diane (Shane) Knight and Dean.She was predeceased by her daughter Janice and much loved nephew, Gerald, her parents Mark and Agnes Woods, her brother Rod and sister Norma Elgie.
