It is with heavy hearts that Shirley's family announce her peaceful passing, comforted by family & friends at her side.
Shirley was raised in Burnaby, BC and worked at PlayLand for many years. There she met Gord, the future love of her life. After PlayLand, she worked in assorted retail careers while raising their two children in Burnaby and Port Moody.
Mid life found Shirley attending Douglas College where she Graduated with Honours from the Residential Care Program, a career she embraced with great passion.
Shirley and Gord retired to Watch Lake, in the Cariboo, 15 years ago. In all communities Shirley was very involved, from CanCan dancing at Golden Spike Days to Oktoberfests and more. She welcomed all into her home with grace, good food, and a listening ear.
She is survived by loving husband Gord of almost 47 years, daughter Terry, son Tom and grandchildren Talya, Sidney, Hailey, Allison and Jacob. She will be missed by many.
There will be a Celebration of Shirley's life held at the Family home: 6299 Moose Point Drive, Watch Lake, BC on June 16, 2018. Please drop by from 2-6 pm.
