Go rest high on that mountain.
Sarah (Sally) Eis Fremlin passed away peacefully at her home at Green Lake on February 23, 2021. Born in Milford, Michigan in 1933, Sally was always curious and had a sparkle in her eye and a welcoming smile.
She met her husband Ronald Fremlin in grade school over a 10-cent bet. After dating through high school, they married in 1950 and shared over 70 years of adventures together, including raising four sons—Ronald Jr., John, Robert and Peter— moving across country and to another country, building four homes, and owning a large guest ranch—The Flying U Ranch.
In the 1970s, Sally attended classes at the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, California. She took many courses, including oil painting, sculpture and life drawing. In the Cariboo, she spent time painting with local artists and joined the Cariboo Artists' Guild. Family members proudly display her watercolour and oil paintings in their homes and treasure the homemade cards she created over the years.
As an owner and hostess of The Flying U Ranch for over three decades, she was known for her kindness and for making people feel welcome and part of the family. Described as spunky and tenacious, guests noticed that she was always busy. She worked at the ranch into her 80s, helping out wherever she could.
Sally loved her family and was very proud of her four sons, 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; she was quick to share their stories and accomplishments.
She was a warm and wonderful grandmother who, along with Ronald Sr,. took her grandchildren on many outdoor and big city adventures. Her generous spirit, spunkiness and wit will be greatly missed.
