The family of Ruth Gammie (nee Haywood-Farmer) wish to announce the peaceful passing of their mother and grandmother on Sat., Sept. 18, 2004. Ruth was born Oct. 21, 1912 in New Westminister, B.C. Ruth and her late husband Bert spent many years of their lives ranching in the Cariboo and retired to Savona, B.C. in the 1980s. In 2003 Ruth moved to Kamloops and was a resident of Berwick on the Park. Ruth will be well remembered for her active lifestyle. She enjoyed many activities including golf, gardening, lawn bowling, carpet bowling, cribbage and bridge. Ruth is survived by her children Donna, George (Lynda), Lynn (Alan) and Mardi; grandchildren Joy, Valerie, Elizabeth, James and Alyson; great grandchildren Kathryne, Brad, Kurt, Jacob, Brandon and Christian. There will be a service to celebrate Ruth’s life on Thurs., Sept. 23, 2004 at St. Paul’s Cathedral, Kamloops (4th and Nicola) at 2 p.m. Reception following at St. Paul’s Hall.
