Russel Andrew COLWELL

March 10, 2006

Aug. 21, 1927 - March 10, 2006

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Russel Andrew Colwell on March 10, 2006 at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, B.C. He leaves his wife Gwen; sons Ross (Marilyn), Eric; daughter Lynn; stepson Ken McEachnie (Lisa) and daughter-in-law Connie McEachnie. His grandchildren Josh, Nicole, Kelsey, Riley and Taylor will all miss their beloved grandpa. Russ was well known in the wood industry, having been employed by Weldwood of Canada in their Vancouver Ash St. Div. and then the 100 Mile Plywood Mill until it closed and he was retired. His knowledge of hardwoods gave him the opportunity to do some consulting work in B.C., Alberta and Saskatchewan, He was once told by someone back East that he was known as “Mr. Plywood”. His health began to fail in 1990 and he had to retire completely. He enjoyed his life and was well-respected by his family, friends and co-workers. We love him and will miss him but we will also celebrate his life now that he is at peace. On Wed., March 15, 2006 at 2pm, a Celebration of Life service will be held at the 108 Community Hall. Services will be officiated by Rev. Hilde Seal. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Heart & Stroke Foundation or the BC Lung Association.

100 Mile Funeral Service Ltd. entrusted with the arrangements.
