Rudi passed away in Palliative Care, Fischer Place, 100 Mile House on Sept. 21, 2016 after being ill 7 years.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Vera and daughters Lien (Sam) and Birgit.

Rudi also leaves behind grandson Jason, his father Don, his siblings and their families, and best friends Gordon and Torben.

Rudi was a loving husband to Vera.

He lived a full life, moving back and forth between Belgium and Canada.

He had a wealth of knowledge and a quirky sense of humor. His passion was cooking and he loved working with his hands, building things, working as a heavy-duty mechanic, salesman, painting and doing general construction up until his illness forced him to stop.

Rudi died as he lived - completely on his own terms, in his own time. He was tremendously caring and generous, carrying on until this year like nothing was wrong.

He was an inspiration to us all and will be greatly missed.

Family and friends wish to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses, staff and caregivers at Fischer Place and 100 Mile District General Hospital, for their care and compassion these last few weeks.

There will be no service by request.
