Ronald Victor HAGGSTROM

Born and raised in Vancouver, B.C., Ron spent much of his working life as an Administrator in local government. He began with the Central Okanagan Regional District in 1972. He came to the District of 100 Mile House in 1987 and served here for 13 years, retiring in 2000. Ron was known for his quick wit and sense of humour, and love of sports, especially golf. His retirement was marked by a passion for computers and his devotion to his four grandchildren. Ron is survived by his wife of 37 years, Joanne; his son Jason (Nova) of Hawke’s Bay, Nfld. and grandsons Joshua and Aaron; his daughter Kristen of 100 Mile House and grandchildren Kassidy and Spencer. He is also survived by his brothers Roger (Pat) and Ross (Eileen), sisters Elaine (Gary) Sass, Joyce Brandner, and Vicki (John) Rogers, his birth mother Pearl Felt and his mother-in-law Jo Ready, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ron was predeceased by his parents Victor and Velma Haggstrom and infant niece Andrea. Ron lost his battle with cancer Sept. 6, 2004. A Family Service was held at St. Timothy’s Anglican Church Sept. 9, 2004, followed by a Memorial Service at St. Timothy’s on Sept. 10, 2004. Both services were officiated by the Rev. Barbara Liotscos. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the 100 Mile House Hospice Society. Ron remains constant in our thoughts and will live in our hearts forever.
