1971-2010

Roger Picarra Vieira was born in 100 Mile House on September 1, 1971 to his loving parents Jose and Eulalia Vieira. There he attended school with his cousins and friends.  After graduation he attended Cariboo College in Kamloops to study drama and English. Roger moved to Smithers where he met Sabrina Larsen, they moved to Terrace in 2001 where they made their home together and had two beautiful children, Brayden and Alyssa. They were later married on July 16, 2005. Roger was a deeply devoted father, husband and son.

Roger went on to pursue his passion in the security field in Terrace in 2002 where he worked as the Northwest Supervisor until he became ill in 2009

On November 14, 2010 after a courageous battle with lung cancer, Roger passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at Mills Memorial Hospital in Terrace.

Roger will be greatly missed by his loving wife Sabrina, son  Brayden and daughter Alyssa, his parents Jose and Eulalia,  aunts,  uncles,  cousins, and by many other family and friends. He will be forever in our hearts.

The Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in 100 Mile House. Father Vernantius Ononiwu was the Celebrant.  Burial followed in 100 Mile District Cemetery.

The entire family would like to thank the doctors and nurses  at Mills Memorial Hospital in Terrace for their compassion and care given to Roger during his illness. They would also like to thank Father Vernantius Ononiwu  for officiating, the Catholic Women’s League for providing a lovely luncheon following the service, the staff of 100 Mile Funeral Service, and MacKays Funeral Service of Terrace.
