1955-2012
Rock Johnston, age 56, passed away peacefully in 100 Mile District Hospital on January 12, 2012.
Rock grew up in Surrey, B.C. and moved to 100 Mile House in 1989 with his family. He operated Rocky’s Towing up until 1996, then owned his own trucking business. Rock also worked for Garth’s Electric and was very involved with the Bethel Pentecostal Community Church. Rock loved the outdoors and all activities.
Rock was predeceased by his daughter Crystal. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Glenda; kids: Morgan, Brady, and Devon; sisters: Darlene and Colleen, five grandchildren: Corey, Alyssa, Jordan, Kaylynn and Holly; and by his parents George and Rita Johnston.
The family would like to thank Dr. Hutchinson, Dr. Street and the nursing staff of 100 Mile District Hospital for their wonderful care of Rock during his illness.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Rock’s memory to the Bethel Pentecostal Community Church, Box 670, 100 Mile House, BC, V0K 2E0.
A Service of Remembrance was held on Monday, January 16, 2012 at the Bethel Pentecostal Community Church. Pastor Matt Duffy officiated.
Rock wanted everyone to know he was at peace with his Lord during his final days.
