Richard John (Rich) Buchanan passed away in the early hours of Friday, September 21, 2007 in Shuswap Lake General Hospital, Salmon Arm, BC at the age of 76 years. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the family residence in Salmon Arm, 251 Highway 97B, on Saturday afternoon, September 29th at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Bill Kiesman officiating. Friends are welcome to join the family for this time of memories. Born in Burnaby, BC on April 26, 1931, Rich was a longtime resident of Bridge Lake prior to moving to Salmon Arm 16 years ago. He is well remembered and respected for his dedication with the Pony Club and raising ornamental birds. He leaves his loving family, wife, Mindy; four children, David (Leah) Buchanan of Bridge Lake, Linda (Mickey) Humphries of Abbotsford, Daniel (Laura) and Darin (Penny) Buchanan of Bridge Lake; step children, Michael Koens of 100 Mile House, Dennis Koens of Leduc, David Koens of Cold Lake and Mark Koens of Edmonton; grandchildren, Lenore, Shane, Kristina, Ricky, Kyle, Andrew, Steven, Natasha, Wayne, Alexandria, Jessica, Rory, Bradley, Candice, Mitchell, Joshua, Matthew, Chloe and Gabriel. Rich was predeceased by grandson, Kevin Buchanan.
