December 24, 1934 - June 30, 2021
We are sad to announce the passing of Richard "Dick" Newton. He was a good friend for over 30 years, and he will be dearly missed. When we took over the Cariboo Bonanza in 1990, Dick and Jo were one of the first guests that we met.
Throughout the following years we developed a very close friendship, and they became grandparents for our children. They became camp managers for the resort and Dick started a Trust Foundation by collecting recyclables. Every morning he would sort and collect pop cans and bottles and would even dig through garbage bags to make sure that every can or bottle was recycled. This spoke volumes about the kind of man he was.
Dick was a man that you could always count on, and if you ever needed a hand, he was always right there for you. Many times, Dick and I had to go down to the sewer tank to change the pump and even though we would be sprayed by the sewer, Dick would laugh and have a smile on his face.
He was one-of-a-kind and had a heart of gold.
Thank you Dick and Jo for all the memories, and all that you did for our family.
We love you dearly and I know one day we will see each other again. Bruno and the whole Sprecher Family
