It is with the most profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rich Oenema. Rich passed away March 11th, 2009 after a long and most courageous battle with cancer. He leaves to mourn his beloved sons, Riley and Tanner, beautiful step-daughter, Heleana, adoring wife and soul mate, Deanna (Guimond), his mom Grace, brother Ken (Lisa), sister Cheryl, as well as his extended family and many, many loving friends. Rich was predeceased by his father, Bert Oenema. Rich was active in the Rotary, was a Volunteer Fire Fighter and would be willing to give a lending hand to any community cause. Rich enjoyed numerous outdoor activities and traveled with Deanna any chance he had. He spent as much time as possible racing around the back country with his boys in all seasons, leaving them with the same love that he had of the outdoors. Rich was a special guy who worked hard, learned more, loved his friends, adored his family, and in his 39 years he lived more than most do in 80. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rich Oenema PSO Scholarship Bursary Fund at the Williams Lake and District Credit Union in 100 Mile House.
