July, 17 1944 – Dec. 11, 2016

Born in Suawoude, Holland, the oldest of 3 children to Sjouke (Jack) and Adriaantje (Jane) Bleeker during the war. In 1959, at the age of 15, the family immigrated to Canada and resided in Edmonton. He worked in a fabricating shop in Edmonton where he received his welding certificate.

In 1965, he moved to BC where he became a steel fabricator. It was here in BC that he met the love of his life, Marlene Ramey, and they were married in August of 1967. In 1979, he decided to pursue his dream to become a rancher and moved to the Cariboo. In spring of 1980, he purchased a piece of property near Lone Butte and started living his dream. Peter loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. Upon the closure of Cariboo Drives and Bearings, he took on many different jobs away from home and close, but did not like living away so he decided, in 1993, to open a fabricating shop in 100 Mile House. Peter became a well-respected business owner and, over the years, has made many new friendships. Peter is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Marlene; 2 sisters Mary (Joe) Boogard of Maple Ridge and Margaret Bailey of Princeton;

4 children Keith (Diana), Dawne Daykin of Kamloops, David and Linda (Dan) Pinto. Peter also had 8 grandchildren, 2 great granddaughters and many nieces and nephews. Peter was loved by his family and will be missed by all. He, at last, is reunited with his Saviour and all his family who have gone on before him.

A service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 3:00pm at the Evangelical Free Church 566 Birch Avenue, 100 Mile House BC. A reception will follow.
