August 9, 1936 – June 30, 2019
It is with sad hearts that on Sunday June 30th, 2019, we said goodbye to Patricia May Sheets (nee Stafford), a beloved mother, grandma (Gma), great-grandmother, and aunt.
Pat was born in Vancouver on August 9th, 1936. She moved to Coquitlam when she was eleven, where she met her best friend forever (Betsy) and the love of her life (George). Pat and George were married two weeks after her 18th birthday. They settled in Port Coquitlam, where they raised their three children, before moving to 100 Mile House in 1980. Pat’s last five years were spent in Abbotsford.
Pat is survived by her daughters, Sandra Irving (Rick) and Lynda Zonruiter; son, David Sheets (Kathie); son-in-law, Harold; grandchildren, Greg (Shea) & Katherine Irving, Christopher (fiancé Andrea) and Rebecca Zonruiter, Laura and Melissa Sheets; and great-grandson, Aiden. Pat was predeceased by her loving husband (George), mother (May), brother (Alvin), and many sisters and brothers-in-law. They were a close group!
Pat’s interests were crafts, animals of all sorts, and a lifetime of volunteering. Her greatest joy was her family, friends, and the many gatherings she organized to bring laughter into the lives of so many. She loved being Gma and everything that brought into her life, including sewing, the infamous treasure box, and her chocolate chip cookies.
We would especially like to thank her niece, Lynnel, for her love, care, and support. Thank you to the staff at Hallmark and Cottage Pavilion for the care and comfort they brought to Pat daily. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 1:30 pm at the Quality Hotel, Room -Pinnacle No. 2, 36035 North Parallel Rd, Abbotsford, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity or service organization, in Mom’s memory, would be appreciated.
Loved by many, an angel has left us. We will miss you. Gone, but never forgotten.
