Nora GREENALL

March 13, 2007

On March 13, 2007, Mrs. Nora Greenall passed away peacefully at Kamloops, B.C. at the age of 92 years. She is survived by her husband Bill and four sons: Larry of Kamloops, Ken of 100 Mile House, B.C., John of Kamloops, and Matt of Barriere, B.C.; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one sister-in-law. Nora was born May 11, 1914 in Fernie, B.C., a coal miner’s daughter. She attended nursing school in Calgary, Alta. at the Holy Cross Hospital and became an RN at the age of 21. She worked as a nurse at St. Mary’s in New Westminster, B.C. and later at Vancouver General until she met and married Bill in 1948. They moved to the Cariboo (Bridge Lake, B.C.) in 1953 with their four boys. Nora’s nursing skills were put to good use with the nearest doctor miles away on a poor dirt road. After 13 years in Bridge Lake, they moved to the Kamloops area and later to Blind Bay, B.C. for 26 years. She often played bridge 3 or 4 times a week. Nora was very active in the local church and was a long time member of the Women’s Institute. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Overlander Extended Care for their professional and compassionate care. The Reverend Father Peter Nguyen will celebrate the Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 635 Tranquille Road, Kamloops. No flowers by request: should friends desire, donations may be made to a charity of donor’s choice.
