In loving memory ~
1932 - 2025
Niels was born in Tvis, Denmark in 1932 on the 5th of May. He had four younger sisters; Grethe, Anny, Karin (Frits) and Ellen (Ole) and many other family members.
He came to Canada in 1952 to Gadsby, Alberta to work on a farm. He then moved to B.C. and worked on small sawmills in the Caribou.
He met his wife Betty Thore in Chase and they married in 1961 and had three children; Ralph (Laura), Debbie and Loretta. Neils then sold tools on the road, going as far north as Fort St. John and west to Prince Rupert. Then he started 58 Mile Auto Wreckers & Towing for several years before moving on to working for Blackdome Mines with helicopter and freight services.
He enjoyed his three grandchildren; Ashley, Vanessa (Josh) and Britta. He loved snowmobiling and was an avid fisherman. Every summer for 47 years the family wet to Babine Lake fishing until Niels discovered ocean fishing in Kitimat. The family went back to Denmark several times.
He will be missed by family and friends.
There will be a casual drop-in Celebration of Niels' Life
at 58 Mile, Sunday May 4th, 1pm and onwards.
