June 22, 1955 - August 25, 2022
We are saddened by the loss of our wife, mother, grandmother (Baba), sister and friend, Myrna Marie Lamb (Vermette) on August 25, 2022, at the age of 67, where she peacefully passed at her and Stanton's home.
Myrna was born in the city of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan on June 22, 1955 from her two parents Mervin Vermette and Pauline Shewchuk. When she was a young girl, her parents moved her and the rest of her family to Willows River northwest of Prince George, British Columbia.
After a brief period of time in Willows River, her family made their final move where they established their permanent home in 100 Mile House, BC in 1965 when she was 10 years of age.
It was not soon after that when at the age of 13 years old she met the love and best friend of her life, Stanton, when their families became neighbours. In early 1971 they had their first child, Terry, and later in that year Myrna and Stanton were married on September 25, 1971 in 100 Mile House when she was 16 years of age.
Myrna spent her working life at a few different locations. She spent a few years working at the 100 Mile House District Hospital working in the kitchen and doing other roles.
She also spent some time working at the old Safeway. But she spent most of her working life at Donex Pharmacy where she loved the people she worked and having the opportunity to see the many faces from the 100 Mile House community on a daily basis.
As a volunteer, Myrna spent some years sharing her lived-experience speaking to youth as part of the P.A.R.T.Y Program.
Myrna is predeceased by her mother and father (Pauline and Mervin Vermette), her son (Terry Lamb), her sister (Wendy Warkentin) and her brother (Adrian Vermette).
Myrna is survived by her husband (Stanton); her three sons (Aaron, Brian (Krista) and Rodney (Suzie)); her 7 grandchildren (Kalan, Orion, Lucas, Tristan, Adrian, Tayt and Vivian); brothers Kyle and Kelly Vermette and sister Kimberley Webb.
Myrna's family meant everything to her. One of the happiest moments of her life was celebrating her and Stanton's 50th wedding anniversary on September 25, 2021 in Kamloops, BC with Stanton, her boys and her 7 grandchildren (whom she absolutely loved and adored).
She will be missed deeply by all those who knew her.
The family would like to thank the many health professionals who supported Myrna including: Dr. Don Street; Dr. Adrienne Montgomery; the care aids and health workers at the 100 Mile House District Hospital. The family would also like to thank Coleen Welton who held Myrna's hand and supported and prayed for her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 23 from 2-5 pm at the Creekside Seniors Centre located at 501 Cedar Avenue, 100 Mile House, BC. Please bring a card with your favourite memory of Myrna or send an email to stanandmyrna71@gmail.com.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the 100 Mile Hospice Society in Myrna's name.
