Murray MacKay LAMBERT

A well known Vancouverite passed away Tues, June 17th at Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock. Born on Nov 4, 1919 in Victoria, BC. Murray Mackay Lambert joined the Canadian Scottish Regiment in 1940, and was medically discharged in 1941. He remained in Eastern Canada for three more years, fulfilling his war effort at Sorel Industries in Sorel, Quebec. His working career was spent managing George Straith Clothing Store, and then Partnership in Margetson-Lee Ltd., dressing many of the area’s rich and famous. Always active in service work, he was a member of the Vancouver Chamber of Commerce, Vancouver Rotary, the Vancouver Executive Club, Shaughnessy Golf Club, Capilano Golf Club, and Holyburn Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the Greeters of Scottish Rites and the Gizeh Shriners of BC, Big Country Shrine Club, 100 Mile Rotary and White Rock Probus. Active and full of life until falling ill this winter, he is survived by his wife of 65 years, Helen Davidson Lambert, and their three sons Ian (Kathy), George (Nonie), Glen (Beth), 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held later this summer at their cottage on Ruth Lake.
