With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our proud, strong and loving mother Minnie Higginbottom at the age of 98.

Minnie was born December 21, 1911 at Watson Bar, BC.

She is predeceased by her husband Alfred, sons: Happy, Norman, Mickey and infant son Wallace; stepchildren: Pete, Doug, Cecil and Dick; grandchildren: Jeniece, Donald, Nadine and Roy.

Minnie had a large family which included many stepchildren and step-grandchildren; all of whom she was proud and profusely protective of.

Minnie is survived by her children: Rita Dunn, Betty (John) Spence, Alfreda Westcott, June (Pete) Puhallo, Roland (Carol) Higginbottom; stepson Edgar Higginbottom, stepdaughter Rosemarie (Howard) Svehla, 34 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

After losing her husband, Minnie raised her young family in Big Bar and then later settled in Clinton where she lived independently until 5 years ago, when she moved to Mill Site Lodge in 100 Mile House, B.C.

Minnie was a woman of many talents; she loved to cook, bake and sew. Mom was especially proud of her silk shirts, moccasins and Indian sweaters.

Mom had a keen sense of humour that she passed on to all her children and grandchildren.

Family meant everything to Mom; the love she shared unconditionally with all her family will have a lasting legacy for generations to follow.

A Celebration of Life will be held December 12, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Clinton Community Hall.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Mill Site Lodge for the care you provided Mom over the years.
