It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael William Morrison. Mike will be lovingly remembered by his wife Donna, his sons Rory (Jackie), Ryan (Sheri), his daughter Holly (Brad), and his grandchildren; Adrianna, Mason, Tristan, Claire, Courtney, Isabelle, Makayla, Logen and Keigan as well as many close family and friends.

Mike grew up in Ladner, BC where he was introduced to commercial fishing at a young age. Fishing was to become his main occupation for the next 50 years; living in Prince Rupert and the Lower Mainland for a number of years before settling his family in 100 Mile House in 1980. Mike had always dreamed of moving to the Cariboo where he and his family could enjoy the outdoor activities that he loved so much.

Mike enjoyed the outdoors and was active in the local archery club. He cherished his hunting trips with friends and family along with his yearly trips to the Queen Charlottes to fish and visit old friends. Mike will be missed at daily coffee by his close friends at the “Senator’s table” and he will be remembered for always offering his help to people when they needed it.

A memorial service for Mike will be held at Martin Exeter Hall on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations to the Children’s Wellness Fund in care of the South Cariboo Lioness Club, Box 1976, 100 Mile House, B.C. V0K 2E0.
