In the dawn of a beautiful morning, we lost our beloved mother. Wendy was born and raised in the City of Vancouver. She met our father, Jan while sailing the world on a Norwegian freighter. They enjoyed the country life in 100 Mile House for over 20 years where Wendy worked in newspaper and real estate and was mother extraordinaire, community volunteer and 4-H leader. They eventually retired to Gibsons before relocating to Kamloops in 2008 to be closer to their daughters.
Wendy lost Jan in March 2009. She leaves behind her children Sydney Johnsen (Maurice), Laila Salm (Pat), Kris Johnsen (Leslie); grandchildren Simon and Tasha Gooch, Samantha Meredith, Jordan and Tara Salm; great grandchildren Hailey and Quinn Meredith and sister Judith Filtness. We will all miss her beautiful smile and sharp wit. A celebration of life will be held at St Paul’s Cathedral Church in Kamloops on June 26th at 2:00 p.m.
