February 7, 1985 - November 17, 2019
It is with sad and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beautiful McLean, age 34.
McLean was born and raised in 100 Mile House. As a kid he spent most of his free time in the winter playing hockey, either in the backyard or in town at the rink, eventually getting good enough to play on the Hope Junior B team. Mac spent his twenties moving around BC and Alberta and while working in the oil patch he met his partner Shylo. They had recently settled on Vancouver Island.
McLean loved discussing sports, food and politics and was a fierce defender of the underdog. He enjoyed cooking, always trying to perfect the art of smoking meat with his smoker. Mac had the travel bug especially after a trip to Europe, he had plans to find the best donair in the world. An unconventional spirit he had a way of walking into a room and getting everyone laughing with his antics and humour.
Mac's favourite band was Pearl Jam. Music was a large part of his life and he was known to burst into song at any moment at the top of his lungs. He was a natural performer, quick witted and skilled at memorizing poetry, funny speeches and random sports trivia. Predeceased by father and hero David, Survived by partner Shylo, mother; Cindy, sister; Emily (Todd), nieces; India, Penelope, Grandparents; Doris (Gord), Uncles, Aunts and
cousins.
A Celebration of Life to be announced.
