Maureen Joanne HODSON

August 5, 2007

It is with great sadness that the family of Maureen Joanne Hodson announces her peaceful passing on August 5, 2007 after her short but difficult battle with cancer. Maureen will be lovingly remembered by her husband and best friend of 47 years Dave Hodson. Maureen will also be fondly remembered by her son Eric (Ardelle) Hodson, pre-deceased daughter Deb (Brett) Walch, brother Denny (Darlene) O’Neill, grand-daughter Danielle (Kevin) Hodson, and grand-sons Colton Walch, and Evan Hodson. As well as her nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends. Born in Oliver Oct. 31, 1943 Maureen met Dave in 1958 and they were married two years later. In the next few years they were blessed with two children. After numerous jobs in Lac La Hache, Penticton, and 20 Mile, the family came to settle in Clinton. They opened the Robertson’s General Store in the late 80s and operated the family business until it burned in the late 90s. She worked at Blackdome goldmine as a cook, as secretary to the mine manager and then opened her own business selling homemade paintings and artwork. Maureen continued her working career as a real estate assistant at Fulton and Co. until she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. The most important things in Maureen’s life were her family and friends. Her smiling face, generous manner, and happy whistling will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Mareen’s memory to the Kelowna Cancer Centre. BC Cancer Foundation- Southern Interior, 399 Royal Ave., Kelowna B.C V1Y 5L3.
