Mary Russell (nee Shearer) HOLDEN

March 19, 2007

Heaven has a brand new angel. Our beautiful wife and mother passed away peacefully, her daughter Jeannie at her side, at 100 Mile House, B.C. the evening of March 19, 2007. Mary was born in “Rose Cottage”, at Crossgates, Scotland on November 26, 1923. She was pre-deceased by her parents James and Jean Shearer and her sister Margaret Jackson. She was a long time resident and volunteer in Victoria and Metchosin as a leader in CGIT at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, a 4-H Leader with the Metchosin Lamb Club, a worker in her local Constituency Office and member of the Social Credit Womens Auxiliary in th 1980s. This very gracious lady’s memory will be forever cherished by her devoted and loving husband Ed, daughter Nina (Bill) Ritchie, son Jim (Rita) Kozub, and daughter Jeannie (Dave) Cadsand. Mary was blessed with 6 loving grandchildren: Bonnie and Lori, Kristy, David and Becky, and Pamela. She also has 14 great grandchildren. Her memory will also be treasured by her “bestest buddy”, Diane Hannigan of Edmonton, Alberta. The family is deeply grateful for the loving and dedicated care she received during her six years at Fischer Place and Millsite in 100 Mile House. A “Remembrance Tea” will be held on April 12, 2007 at Millsite Lodge at 2pm, in 100 Mile House, B.C. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimers Society in her memory would be appreciated.
