Martin Hartog

Passed away peacefully at home on April 22, 2004 with family and friends by his side. He is survived by his loving wife Jean of 45 years; daughters Caroline (Vern) and Denise (Kirk); grand daughters Danika, Krystal, Netanya, Heather and one grandson Lynden. Martin was born in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, July 30, 1935. The family moved to Canada in 1952. In Vancouver he met and married Jean Mary McLellan, they moved to Kelowna in 1964. In 1980 they joined he World Relief Corp. and the family was moved to Europe, where Martin served for 21 years, including a few years at headquarters in Wheaton, Illinois. 2000 brought retirement and a move to 100 Mile House to be close to family. Memorial service was on April 27 at the 100 Mile House Baptist Church. Martin will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and for his commitment to helping others around the world who cannot help themselves. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to World Relief Corp., or the Canadian Cancer Society - Southern Interior Rotary Lodge.
